Itinerary
Your African adventure begins in the City of Gold, Johannesburg. Your Tour Host will meet you at the airport and we’ll head to the Hyde hotel in Rosebank.
A new hotel in the vibrant Rosebank Mall precinct, the rooms are perfect for relaxing after the long journey to South Africa.
We’ll celebrate the start of your adventure with welcome drinks and dinner at Proud Mary’s restaurant.
Golf will be played at Royal Johannesburg, home to numerous South African Opens and,
The River Club, South Africa’s most exclusive private golf club.
We will fly from Johannesburg to South Africa’s iconic Garden Route.
We’ll spend 2 nights ‘on safari’ staying in luxury tented accommodation at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. There will be close encounters with giraffe, elephant, lion, buffalo and all the other usual suspects from open game vehicles. There is every chance you’ll see rhino grazing as you relax on your deck overlooking the vlei.
We’ll stay for 3 nights at Fancourt Golf Resort & Spa, one of the world’s most famous golf destinations.
We’ll play magnificent Pinnacle Point, Montagu and Fancourt’s private course, The Links.

We will be transferred over the majestic Outeniqua mountains to South Africa’s winelands. We will stay at the quaint and perfectly located Protea Hotel situated in Franschhoek.
Franschhoek is home to some of the world’s oldest wine farms and boasts an incredibly strong French history. We’ll play De Zalze, a stunning resort course in Stellenbosch.

We will spend 3 nights at the V&A Hotel at Cape Town’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Cape Town is South Africa’s ‘Mother City’, she is as beautiful as she is welcoming.

We’ll spend 3 wonderful nights on the banks of the Crocodile River at Buhala Lodge.
Overlooking Kruger National Park’s southern border, Buhala Lodge offers elegant African décor and fine dining. Elephants may be viewed grazing as you enjoy an early morning cup of coffee from your balcony or sundowners from the viewing deck.

Watching the Dunhill Cup coverage from Leopard Creek Country Club is always amazing and, to actually play it… it’s as spectacular as it looks.

We’ll head into Kruger National Park for 3 magical nights at Kruger Shalati, The Train on the Bridge. Offering a unique safari experience The Train on the Bridge is the newly crowned jewel in the crown of Kruger National Park.
Train carriages have been decommissioned and converted into 5-star suites, perched on top of the original train line entering Kruger National Park. Adventurous morning and evening game drives, delicious cuisine and impeccable service are all daily standards at The Train on the Bridge.

We’ll wake early to freshly ground coffee and a light breakfast before we head out on the morning game drive. It can be brisk in the open game vehicle; layers of clothing are essential.
In between tracking the Big Five, we’ll stop to stretch our legs and sip a welcome hot coffee or hot chocolate with a warming dash of Amarula. We’ll head back to Kruger Shalati for a delicious breakfast, followed by a few hours of relaxing at the pool bar or in your suite. Lunch is served at 12:30pm.
We’ll meet for the afternoon game drive after high tea.

Dinner is served from 7.30pm, after the evening game drive. Guests are welcome to remain in their safari gear and enjoy sundowners around the fire before dinner. Or, they may return to their carriages to shower and change while enjoying a complimentary drink from their minibar.
Following our final morning game drive, we’ll head to the picturesque town of Dullstroom, South Africa’s mecca for trout fishing, local handicrafts, antique shopping and the Ernie Els signature course, Highland Gate.
Walkerson’s Hotel & Spa is a grand country hotel nestled in the rolling hills of the Mpumulanga Highlands. Rooms feature a fireplace, and private patio with magnificent views. Winter is the perfect time to be there – we’ll enjoy chilly nights warmed by open fireplaces throughout the lodge. Your own fireplace will be alight and welcoming when you return to your room after dinner.

Our final round of golf will be at magnificent Highland Gate. Not only is it visually spectacular, this Ernie Els signature course is tipped to rival Leopard Creek and The Links as they battle it out each year to be the #1 golf course in South Africa.

Following a leisurely breakfast, we will transfer to Johannesburg International airport. If you are extending your African adventure, you will be transferred to wherever you need to be.
